Springfield Airport AAM

Advanced Air Mobility

The Dayton Region has come a long way since Orville and Wilbur Wright set up shop.

A global powerhouse for innovation in the aerospace and aviation industries, the region was a natural fit for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Springfield, Ohio brings together testing resources, AAM-focused facilities, and extensive manufacturing capabilities to support the development and production of eVTOL vehicles.

Your Front Door to AAM

The National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE) opened in 2023 at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport. The nucleus of operations for a growing list of AAM industry leaders, the NAAMCE features:

  • Office, laboratory, operational, and collaborative space
  • 25,000 square foot hangar
  • Easy access to Airpark Ohio, a SiteOhio-authenticated site primed for manufacturing operations
  • Close proximity to SkyVision, an air traffic control system for unmanned aircraft, and the gateway to 225 square miles of airspace allowing BVLOS flight up to 18,000 feet in altitude, with no aircraft size restrictions.
