Military & Veteran Programs

The Dayton Region welcomes military service members, veterans and retirees to build their lives in Ohio.

Ohio offers Military Service Members and Veterans a bright future.

Ohio’s goal is to be the nation’s most military-friendly state. Ohio’s pro-military policies include:

  • Tax-free military retirement income
  • Special military healthcare benefits
  • Occupational state licensing reciprocity for military spouses
  • K-through-12 and higher education support
  • Up-skilling and on-the-job training programs
  • Veteran services offices in each of Ohio’s 88 counties
  • Ohio is a designated Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone (MSEEZ), which helps address the challenges faced by military spouses seeking meaningful employment.

"We want the Department of Defense to always recognize that Ohio will welcome and support our military, and that they can confidently place new missions in Ohio because our policies and our talented workforce will ensure success. Ohio is the BEST state in the Nation for our military and their families.”

 Ohio Governor Mike DeWine
