Ross Aluminum to Add Jobs in Sidney
SIDNEY—A new owner will revitalize Ross Aluminum in Sidney, creating 175 jobs and investing $5.4 million in Ross’s Sidney operations.
“Ross Aluminum is a strong addition to our manufacturing portfolio” said Pancho Hall, CEO and Chairman of P&THE. “We’re excited for the opportunity to grow our Sidney operations here and draw from the skilled workforce in Shelby County and beyond. We’re grateful for the support of our local partners and JobsOhio.”
In April, P&THE Manufacturing, LLC, a MBE holding company that provides high-performing manufacturing solutions through business acquisitions and joint ventures, purchased of the assets (property, equipment, real estate) of USAC Ross, LLC, an aluminum foundry where aluminum castings in the aerospace, performance racing, diesel engine, and power generation industry have been manufactured for over 90 years.
“Ross Aluminum’s casting facility has been employing workers in Sidney for generations, and this investment by P&THE Manufacturing brings upgrades that promise an optimistic outlook for future growth,” said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. “The expansion and revitalization of the Ross plant brings 175 jobs and the newest aluminum casting technology to keep this staple of the region growing and competitive in the global marketplace with talent from Ohio.”
Since 1931, Ross has been supplying quality aluminum castings to a wide range of industries through a series of different owners. In January, Ross announced the Sidney facilities would close in March. The acquisition means the facility will remain open and add jobs. JobsOhio provided a $900,000 Revitalization grant to support the project.
The acquisition fits into P&THE’s strategy to acquire a collection of world class enterprises that serve global communities by providing customers with the highest quality manufacturing parts and services as their Global Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) of choice.
“As P&THE enters the global manufacturing marketplace, their strategic acquisition of Ross allows them to leverage generations of manufacturing talent in Sidney and beyond. They join a powerful regional ecosystem built through a commitment to quality and a respect for hard work,” said Julie Sullivan, Dayton Development Coalition Executive Vice President of Regional Development. “We know P&THE have a bright future here and look forward to supporting their growth.”
The Clear Vision Impact Fund, which is managed by SWS Capital Management, provided P&THE Manufacturing with all the debt financing to acquire Ross Aluminum.
